Description about the school
The University of Oklahoma (OU) is an extraordinary university known for its academic excellence and strong sense of community, providing a major university experience in a private college atmosphere. OU is often called a “family” because we care about one another and encourage the sharing of knowledge, ideas, and culture. Our world-renowned professors challenge our students to think critically and to be hands-on participants in the learning process. Services and programs are in place to support and ensure our students’ academic success as well as in their future careers. The Center for English as a Second Language (CESL) offers intensive English language courses for academic purposes and introduces students to the US classroom experience. OU Sooner Jump Start (SJS) is a pathway program designed to support students in their successful transition to a U.S. university. Students begin with English language instruction at CESL and complete the program with 12 college credits at OU. OU enrolls more than 30,000 students with over 2,700 full-time faculty.
