Why study in UK?

Hosting over 500,000 international students, the UK is the world’s second leading study destination (after the US), largely thanks to the strong global reputation of UK universities. An impressive 71 UK universities feature in the QS World University Rankings 2018 and four institutions are currently ranked within the global top 10. What makes UK so attractive to international students?

1. Academic excellence

United Kingdom is the home of three out of the world’s ten best universities. Notably, Oxford and Cambridge University are in the top 2 according to The world’s best universities in 2018, Times Higher Education. Always ranked in the list of the global highest- ranking institutions, UK schools are also constantly supervised by Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA).

Undergraduate degrees at universities in the UK typically last three years, although courses in Scotland are usually a year longer. Students in the UK start their higher education with a bachelor’s degree, although for some subjects you can enroll on an undergraduate degree that leads directly into a master’s program – these combined courses are four years long. Taken separately, master’s programs last one or two years, and PhDs at least three.

In addition, students can work up to 20 hours/ week, allowing them to earn some money to cover their costs and gain helpful experience for their careers in the future.
