Lake Washington Institute of Technology (LWTech) is located in Kirkland, Washington, only 24 km from downtown Seattle. The area is home to world class companies including Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Starbucks, Boeing, Nintendo, and other high technology/gaming companies. Founded in 1949, LWTech is the only public institute of Technology in Washington State.
Students and parents will have a chance to talk with Dr. David Rector, Dean of International Programs and Global Education at LWTech for an informal coffee talk to learn about Lake Washington Institute of Technology and our popular degree programs, high school completion, and application process. You are invited to meet with Dr. Rector at Starbucks Coffee as follows:

Lake Washington Institute of Technology graduates are prepared to go out into the workforce with the latest industry skills, and/or ready to transfer to one of LWTech’s bachelor’s or another university. Our graduates that continue on to another university typically transfer to area institutions like University of Washington, University of Washington Bothell, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Washington State University, and Central Washington University.
Hundreds of industry leaders serve on our advisory committees, providing leadership, direction and industry insight. The college leverages industry expertise to create well-defined educational pathways that prepare students for employment or transfer upon graduation. These business leaders provide internships and in many cases, hire our graduates.
LWTech students experience hands-on learning from expert, masters or doctorial credentialed faculty with direct ties to industry, and our graduates are getting jobs. In fact, 83-percent of our graduates are employed within six months of graduation.
Post-completion work experience opportunities (OPT) available with all associate and applied bachelor degrees. Two applied bachelor programs are eligible for up to three years of work experience (STEM—OPT). Internships (CPT) are available with some associate degree programs.
Tom Cong Nguyen (Suit):
Tom enrolled in LWTech’s High School Completion/Associate degree, which allows students to earn both high school and college credits at the same time. He completed his High School Diploma and Associate in Computer Security and Network Technology in June 2017. He moved back to HCMC, and easily found a job working in his field. He is currently completing his Bachelor in Business online through Lincoln University, while working full time.
Tim Cong Nguyen (White shirt):
Tim began his studies last Summer, and has just completed his first year at LWTech. He is enrolled in the High School Completion program, and Associate in Computer Science degree program.
Thinh Dang (T-shirt):
Thinh began his studies last Fall, and has just completed his first year at LWTech. He is enrolled in the High School Completion program, and Associate in Computer Science degree program.
