Lower School Curriculum

Nurture independence and creativity in students aged 3-11
Windermere Prep's Lower School (ages 3-11) offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to foster creativity, teamwork, and independence. Students receive instruction in core subjects like reading, writing, math, science, and social studies, as well as enrichment activities in the arts, languages, and physical education.
Windermere Prep's long standing Laker Learning Buddy Program pairs older students with younger ones, fostering mentorship and community. Older students develop leadership skills while younger students benefit from personalized support and improved social skills.
Additionally, Windermere Prep also celebrates its youngest learners with the "Starting My Story" Kindergarten Graduation. Dressed in caps and gowns, kindergartners share their thoughts and reflections on their academic journey.
For fifth graders, they mark a significant milestone with the "Crossing the Bridge" ceremony. As they transition to middle school, students share personal reflections on their learning experiences. The ceremony features a warm welcome from older students and the presentation of a red star pin, symbolizing their accomplishments.

Boarding life at Windermere Preparatory School
The Residential Life Program offers a unique and rewarding experience for its students. Dorms are converted townhomes providing students with the comfort and feel of a real home while also allowing them to enjoy the camaraderie of a traditional dorm experience. The dorms are located just minutes away from campus and within close walking proximity to a variety of lifestyle options including restaurants, dry cleaning, major food retailers, Publix Supermarket and much more.

The Residential Facility is under the care of full-time Dorm Parents and part-time Residential Assistants who ensure the health, safety and happiness of the students. They closely monitor proper behavior, study habits, and help to create a sense of community. Dorm Parents also work closely with parents, teachers and tutors to ensure each student is comfortable in class and feels happy and engaged at school.
During holidays, students embark on exciting week-long trips. In the Fall Semester, they head to a local beach resort for a fun-filled getaway. There, they enjoy water activities, group dinners, and explore the city. Spring Break brings an even more adventurous experience — a week-long cruise!
Beyond the classroom, the school offers a variety of dining options. FLIK Independent School Dining provides the standard student meals, but students can also choose from a range of healthy and balanced options from outside vendors, including sandwiches, salads, fruits, and more.
