AN OVERVIEW EDUCATION IN UNITED KINGDOM

Students in UK are required to complete mandatory tertiary education from the age of 5- 16. They can choose to continue their education to high school, A -level (2 years) or college preparatory programs (1 year). The results of A- level will be used to register courses at college and university level. While all UK schools accept A- level certificates, only some schools adopt foundation courses.

The next step for students is higher education including undergraduate and post-graduate levels. Students normally start their undergraduate study at the age of 18 and it will take 3-4 years depending on the course requirements ( normally 03 years). After completing the bachelor degree, students can enroll post- graduate level, usually lasting 01 year. Doctoral courses will last up to 07 years.

International students can start at GCSE level (General Certificate of Secondary Education). A- level and college preparatory courses are two most popular options among Vietnamese students.
