Choosing a school based on its ranking shouldn’t be the only consideration when deciding which US High School to attend. Yet, many parents and students pay attention to a school’s rankings and statistics above everything else. What benefit is a highly ranked school boasting high SAT scores and graduates accepted to top USA universities if the international student is not able to access the courses and the programs the school offers to achieve individual success? Attending a highly ranked school alone does not guarantee personal achievement in academics or maturation and positive growth in social skills, independence, responsibility, compassion for others, and adaptation to the new environment.

Wisconsin Lutheran High School’s strong tradition of academic excellence and caring for the total student has achieved success in rankings and statistics. (see graphics below). However, in order for each student to access the programs and benefits the school offers, the International Student Program staff and teachers at Wisconsin Lutheran High School focuses on individual student care and attention. This individual care and attention, along with unique programs specifically enabling students to quickly and successfully integrate into the school’s systems and environment, results in less student anxiety and creates feelings of acceptance and belonging. Without the burden of loneliness, fear, and anxiety, students are free to confidently develop relationships, communicate successfully, and feel a sense of security in stepping out of their comfort zone. The path is free of roadblocks, and they can access the school’s top ranked programs and opportunities.
