Don’t wait to start your child on an education path that will set them up for success !
Concordia Academy is located minutes away from downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul in Minnesota, one of the happiest, healthiest, and cleanest states in the country. It has more than 10,000 lakes and is the source of the longest river in the United States, the Mississippi River. There are 19 Fortune 500 companies in Minnesota, including United Health Group, Target, Best Buy, CHS, and 3M.
For over 125 years, Concordia Academy (CA) has been educating young people in grades 9-12, training leaders, equipping athletes, spotlighting artists, and encouraging character development. As a college-preparatory school, we offer over 100 college credits on campus, as well as STEM, Emerging Artist, and Humanities Cohorts that allows students to tailor their education according to their plans for the future. Our specialized learning cohorts give students the opportunity for an advanced curriculum, an individualized internship, and a senior capstone project.
Unlike many American high schools, Concordia Academy also has the ability to allow qualified international students to participate in college courses on our campus so that they can begin earning college credits before they graduate high school. Concordia Academy partners with a local university, Concordia University, to make this possible. International students that successfully graduate from Concordia Academy will also receive automatic acceptance into Concordia University if they choose, or will receive assistance from Concordia Academy’s guidance counselors in applying to another top university of their choosing. International students that graduate from Concordia Academy attend some of the top universities in the country, including the University of Minnesota, University of Notre Dame, Michigan Tech University, and University of California, Berkeley.
In order to ensure international student success, Concordia Academy offers English and academic support through two introductory courses, connection with American students through a unique “Global Partners” program, and small group tutoring with other international and American students. International students can also participate in athletic teams and after school clubs which helps build a strong community for them while they are away from home.
Concordia Academy understands better than most, the importance of a good education at an affordable cost. That is why the school offers financial aid and scholarships, including a Diversity Scholarship and an Academic Scholarship to make CA an education option for all families.
Upon acceptance to Concordia Academy, students will quickly receive all documents required to apply for an F-1 student visa. Should the outbreak of COVID-19 in the U.S. affect a student’s ability to travel or begin in the Fall 2020 semester, Concordia Academy will hold their place in enrollment and keep their SEVIS records active so that they can begin their program as soon as possible.
Concordia Academy will also assist with safe, caring Homestay placements for students in need of housing. Homestay placements are Concordia Academy’s preferred method of housing for our students. Through Homestay, international students are given the opportunity to immerse themselves in an American home, with the help of nurturing host parents to assist with school work and host siblings to engage them in English conversation. Our students that participate in Concordia Academy’s Homestay Program often make friendships that last a lifetime, and exceed in English development over their peers staying in dormitories or with families that speak their native language. Host families are provided with student’s health insurance information so that all students have caring adult supervision and access to transportation to health clinics and hospitals nearby.

Wenxi Liu (Class of 2019) shares why Concordia Academy is more than just taking classes: I like Concordia Academy because I know the teachers truly care about us very much. Every time we have class, the teachers will ask us how we are doing and share things that we might be interested in.
YingYan Huang (Class of 2017): I am thankful that I was able to take some college classes through Concordia University while I was in CA. Many of the college credits taken at Concordia Academy were transferred to my college transcript. This program prepared me well for applying for colleges and served as a foundation for taking more advanced courses in college. The advantage of taking college courses while in high school may help you graduate in three years for college. Meanwhile, it will not only save time but also money.
